Proper maintenance extends the service life and enjoyment of furniture. Many questions about cleaning and maintenance arise when the furniture is in use. Several tips are listed below:
• Over time, every type of fabric discolors to some extent under the influence of light. However, always avoid placing your furniture in the range of direct sunlight.
• Furniture fabrics are sensitive to sharp buckles, pet claws, toys, rings, etc. These may cause permanent damage to the fabric. Stiff denims also accelerate the wear and tear process.
• You are recommended to vacuum clean your furniture on a regular basis. For this purpose, use the appropriate extension piece (a soft brush that will be used only for this purpose) and make sure it has no protrusions that might catch on the fabric. Move in gentle strokes at a low suction setting (!), and for pile weaves, always follow the nap. In this way you will remove all particles such as sand that will cause damage.
• Wipe the furniture down with a moist, clean cloth or chamois on a regular basis.
Use descaled water, because tap water may leave stain.
• Avoid direct sunlight because the color of the leather may be affected.
• Clean up any spills immediately. Because of the unique qualities of leather, a stain will usually become less visible over time.
• Make sure the environment has the proper air humidity (40-60%). An overly dry environment will cause the leather to dehydrate, with tears and breaks as a result.
• Do not rub a small area with too much vigor, because the leather might become shiny or stretch out.
